Research Projects

Raymond is persuing research related to cybersecurity of the instrumentation and control (I&C) systems of nuclear power plants. Part of this research involves coupling dynamic models of nuclear reactor power systems to Programable Logic Controllers (PLCs), either in the form of physical hardware or computer emulations running the same software, as part of a DOE Nuclear Engineering University Program grant to UNM-ISNPS in collaboration witrh Sandia National Laboratories. The planned emulytics platform would enable the behavior of nuclear power plant I&C systems under cyber-attack. In addition to his research with UNM-ISNPS, Raymond is an intern at Sandia National Laboratories working in cybersecurity of critical infrastructure.
